Even though the big Fourth of July car sales events are over, there are still plenty of great car deals that can help you save money this month. If you plan on financing your new car, we found many interest-free offers, low interest rates and thousands of dollars in cash back rebates. If you’d rather lease your new car, there are many options, including lease deals that don’t require a down payment and leases with low monthly payments when you make a down payment. New car sales were strong in June, and automakers are trying to keep the sales momentum going with these incentives.
Lease Deals
If you’d rather not make a down payment when you lease a new car, there are quite a few $0 down lease deals available this July. Keep in mind that these lease offers generally have higher monthly payments. No money down leases can be found at Honda, Acura and Mazda dealerships this month. The 2013 Honda Accord is available for $280 a month for three years, and the 2013 CR-V can be leased for $300 a month, also for three years. The three-row 2013 Mazda CX-9 is available this July for $319 a month for three years in many areas of the country, and the 2014 Mazda6 has a three-year lease for $269 a month in most areas. Acura, Honda’s luxury brand, is offering the new 2014 RLX for $600 a month for three years, and the 2013 MDX for $500 a month for three years.
Check out July lease offers from Nissan, Kia, Volkswagen, Jeep, Dodge, Chrysler, Toyota, Chevrolet, Ford, Hyundai, Mitsubishi, Scion and Subaru if you want a lease deal with low monthly payments. These brands have lease offers with payments ranging from about $100 to $300 a month when you put several thousand dollars down. For example, the 2013 Chevrolet Cruze can be leased for $149 a month for three years with $2,129 due at signing. The 2013 Volkswagen Passat is available for $199 a month for three years with a $2,349 down payment. The 2013 Hyundai Elantra can be leased for $159 a month for three years with $2,199 due at signing.
Purchase Deals
Take a look at the car deals from Toyota, Chevrolet, GMC, Buick and Mazda if you’re looking to finance your new vehicle with a low- or no-interest car loan, or are searching for cash rebates. The 2013 GMC Terrain can be purchased with zero percent financing for four years this July. The 2013 Chevrolet Volt has $4,000 in cash incentives right now, and the 2013 Impala is available with either zero percent financing for six years or $4,000 cash back. Truck shoppers can save money on the 2013 Toyota Tundra by taking advantage of zero percent financing combined with $500 to $1,000 financing cash, or $2,750 cash.

Best Fourth of July Car Deals

Holidays can be a great time to shop for a new car and this Independence Day is no exception. Though new car sales have been strong and car companies have been offering fewer incentives overall, some major brands are rolling out special Fourth of July deals.

Honda sales jumped 13 percent in June 2013 compared to June 2012, but that hasn't stopped Honda from offering some very good Fourth of July incentives. Most Honda models, including the Honda Civic, Honda Accord, Honda CR-V, Honda Odyssey and Honda Pilot, are currently available with 0.9 percent financing for up to 60 months.

However, if you want an even lower financing rate, check out deals from Ford and Chevrolet. Ford is offering no-interest financing for up to 60 months in most regions on models including the Ford Taurus, Ford Mustang, Ford Focus and Ford Explorer. Chevrolet is offering no-interest financing on many models, including the Chevrolet Malibu, Chevrolet Equinox and Chevrolet Traverse.

If you really take the independence in Independence Day to heart and don't want to commit to buying a new car, there are plenty of Fourth of July lease deals you can take advantage of. Toyota lease deals vary by region, but in most parts of the county, you can lease a Toyota Camry for less than $200 per month, and a RAV-4 can be leased in many areas for less than $250 per month. Depending on where you live, you can lease the Mazda3 for about $200 per month and the Mazda CX-5 for about $300 per month. Both Mazda lease deals don’t require any money at signing and no first month’s payment.

Luxury brands also have some Fourth of July sales. You can lease a BMW 328i for $349 per month, or finance one at 3.05 percent. Mercedes doesn't have financing offers on the Mercedes-Benz C-Class, a direct competitor to the BMW 3-Series, but it does have the C250 sedan available for lease at $349 per month. The Lexus RX 350 is available with lease payments of $399 to $429 per month, depending on where you live, or with 1.9 percent financing.

Car Shoppers Prefer Outgoing Model Deals Over Redesigns

According to an online survey that autotrader.com released last week, 79 percent of car shoppers would rather get a good deal than wait for the latest redesign.
“From computers to phones to TVs and even cars, the next ‘new’ release seems to be just around the corner, making it harder for people to have the latest and greatest for very long,” says Rick Wainschel, vice president of automotive insights at AutoTrader.com. “In that environment, especially with such a large purchase as a car, many consumers seem to feel that good is good enough, particularly if it will save them some green.”
There may also be other benefits to not getting the latest and greatest. The Washington Post points out that the redesigned 2013 Ford Fusion and Ford Escape have had recalls for multiple issues, including problems “with their engines, headlamps, brake lines, and most recently, child safety locks.” As a result, shoppers looking for a reliable vehicle may want to wait a few years for all the kinks to be worked out.
Some redesigned 2014 vehicles include the Kia Forte, Cadillac CTS, Chevrolet Silverado, GMC Sierra and Subaru Forester. As all-new 2014 models begin to show up in dealerships, keep an eye on outgoing 2013 models to see if you can get a better deal. For example, if you check out our Subaru page, you’ll notice that the 2013 Forester is available with zero-percent financing. That’s better than the redesigned 2014 Forester’s 1.9% financing, and the 2013 model also has a lower base price.
